LICENCE TERMS
Alkebulan: A Journal of West and East African Studies aims to provide a range of user license options to ensure clarity regarding the reuse of open access articles published on the journal's website.
The journal adopts the Creative Commons license (CC), which is provided by Creative Commons (CC), a non-profit organization headquartered in Mountain View, California, USA. The mission of Creative Commons is to expand the range of creative works that others may lawfully adapt and distribute. To achieve this, Creative Commons has developed various copyright licenses that are made available to the public. These licenses allow authors to specify the rights they reserve and those they waive for the benefit of recipients or other creators.
Creative Commons copyright licenses and tools aim to strike a balance within the traditional "all rights reserved" framework established by copyright law. These tools offer a simple and standardized method for individuals, corporations, and institutions to grant copyright permissions for their creative works. The Creative Commons copyright licenses facilitate a vast and expanding digital commons, providing a repository of content that can be copied, distributed, modified, remixed, and built upon, all within the boundaries of copyright law.
