PUBLICATION FEE

Alkebulan: A Journal of West and East African Studies, affiliated with the Department of Philosophy at the University of Calabar in Nigeria, operates as a self-sustaining, non-profit journal. In order to cover essential operational expenses, including electronic composition and typesetting, review management, proofreading, archiving in internationally recognized open-access repositories where applicable, editorial and administrative costs, extensive data and multimedia hosting, and web hosting, a publication fee is required. As an open-access publication, Alkebulan: A Journal of West and East African Studies does not charge subscription fees, making all articles freely accessible online. It is presumed that all submissions to Gnosi Journal adhere to the fee-based open-access publication model. Upon approval for publication, authors are required to pay a publication fee of 50 United States Dollars or the equivalent in Euros to cover operational costs. Payment details will be provided in the letter of acceptance. Published articles on the Gnosi Journal website are freely accessible online.

The publication fee is 50 USD (or the equivalent in EUR).

Waiver Policy

Alkebulan: A Journal of West and East African Studies offers full waivers for papers whose corresponding authors reside in countries classified as low-income economies by the World Bank, depending on the quality of the work and other specific factors. Alkebulan: A Journal of West and East African Studies Journal reserves the right to accept or decline any waiver requests. Requests made during the review process or after acceptance will not be considered. To request a waiver, please email an application to samuelbassey15@yahoo.com.

Refund Policy

Once a paper is published, the author is responsible for payment, and refunds will not be issued. The publication fee becomes non-refundable once both the payment and the manuscript have been validated and processed.
